Continuing with the awkwardly titled blog posts about Google Buzz, looks like I’m not the only one who’s peeved about the involuntary inclusion of Google Buzz in my Gmail. Boy Genius Report tells us that Google are about to be hit with a class action suit with regard to the Google Buzz infarction:

Instead of the more common “opt-in” model, Google pushed Buzz out to all Gmail users making users chose to “opt-out” if they were not interested. The complaint cites the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1984 and the suit has the potential to include all Gmail users — over 31 million users at the time of the Buzz release.

Watch this space folks, we’ll be keeping an eye on this over the coming months.

As a web design and development agency with our fingers on the pulse of the interweb we should really pass comment on Google Buzz. As a proven Google fan too (did I mention I bought an Android phone? Yup folks, skipped the iPhone. More on that later!), I should be jumping on this band wagon. So while keeping in mind Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Twitter and many others, here’s my opinion.

Meh.

Why? Well for a start, I don’t appreciate that it has integrated itself into my Gmail and already had me follow people and allowed people to follow me, before I’ve even logged into my Gmail to investigate it! Also, it’s basically Twitter for Gmail. With pictures. And more inane stuff that I have no interest in reading.

Someone suggest a business case for this that hasn’t already been done and I’ll rethink my stance. But for now…

Meh.
