We here at Arekibo have found that we have had to more frequently provide demonstrations for our clients and prospective clients by using a web meeting client like WebEx. While this is all very good and functional, it does have it’s limitations and time constrictions (waiting for clients and users at the other end to create accounts and download and install client software is a particular “pet-peeve” of mine). But banish that ghost and say “NO MORE!” cause there’s a new kid on the block and it’s name is DimDim! Basically all you have to do is a quick sign up, create your meeting, invite your guests and away you go. It has full whiteboard facility (that all users can use at the one time), it has public/private chat windows and of course (my favourite attribute of everything it applies to!) it’s completely free for up to 20 users. When is the last time you had an online meeting that had more than 20 users at it!?!?!?! You can share everything including:

Audio (Real or recorded)

Video (Web Cam or Video playback)

Documents (Office, PDF, Graphics, etc)

Computer Screens

Web pages

Hot dogs

Ok, maybe not the Hot dogs, but everything else is fantastic! There are also apps that allow you start meetings from your iPhone, mashup facilities, the list goes on. And, as it’s all web based, the possibilities are endless. There’s no client to install and it just works. It even looks great!!! View the full feature list from the Dim Dim website.

Try it next time you have a need for a web meeting. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
