Great news from Arekibo HQ today; our new site has been shortlisted in the Best Web Design category of the Irish Internet Association’s Net Visionary Awards.
The new Arekibo Digital site went live in early May, along with our new blog, updated Twitter (@arekibo) and brand new Facebook page.
Ask any digital designer and they will say that all good designs begin on paper, and this is true for Arekibo’s new website; except our designs not only stayed on paper, they are actually made out of paper.
The site’s design elements, including the banners, have been hand-made and photographed to create our new site’s design. Each papercraft design element has been custom made for its page (even our error page) and these were combined with our design team’s creative Photoshop talents to generate our unique imagery. We also took this a step further and combined the paper elements with Flash to create our homepage and Facebook “Hello” animation.
We’re very honoured to be nominated with some of the best in modern Irish Web design; the competition is tough this year and features some great web designs by Laura Hodson of Dara Creative for Bryansryan.ie (@daracreative), Sabrina Dent for sabrinadent.com (@SabrinaDent), and X Communications for xcommunications.ie (@xcommunications).
The Net Visionary awards are now in the 13th year and this year features 15 categories; have a look at these categories and don’t forget to vote for your favourites.
